A Poem a Day #8

This limerick is for Tricia at The Miss Rumphius Effect. Tricia’s going to be my date for the prom—just ask Jules and Eisha at 7-Imp! They’ve got all the inside info on kidlit bloggers. The Miss Rumphius Effect is an outstanding blog and an excellent resource—especially for those of you who happen to be teachers or are studying to become teachers. Tricia has compiled some fine thematic book lists.

Since it’s Easter, I thought I’d get a little biblical with my verse.

Cruise for Twos
by Elaine Magliaro

Gorillas and camels and gnus
All hurried to line up by twos—
Couldn’t wait to embark
Upon Noah’s new ark
And relax on a forty-day cruise.

Hi Elaine,
I'm honored! I love the limerick. I can't imagine how many poems you have gathering dust. I hope there are enough to take us well through April and into next year!
Regards,
Tricia

Tricia,

I have hundreds of poems--many of which need lots of work. My writing style has changed over the years and, I think, improved. I hope I am able to post thirty poems in April that won't come back to embarrass in the not-too-distant future.

Elaine, I love what you've done with the blog so far! Sorry for my sporadic visits -- it's been a tough couple of weeks. But I want you to know I'm thinking of you, and I promise to visit as often as I can.

Nancy,

Glad you stopped by! Of course, I've been blogging instead of attending to other matters that need attention--like housework.
