So sorry I haven’t posted for over a week. I was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for a few days saying goodbye to 2009 and toasting in the New Year with close friends. I didn’t have Internet access. I did have lots of great food, delicious bubbly, and plenty of good laughs while I was away.This year I’m serving as a Round II Judge on the Cybils Poetry Panel. I thought there were many fine children's poetry books published in 2009. I wonder if the poetry-nominating panel had a difficult time getting the list down to five books???
In addition to serving as a judge on the Cybils Poetry Panel, I'm a member of the NCTE Poetry Committee--which is currently working on a list of 2008 Poetry Notables for "Language Arts."
