Nature lovers and bird watchers should stop by poet Joyce Sidman's website and read her online journal Nesting with Robins. She's posted some great photos of newly hatched robins.
David Elsey has a review of How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? at Excelsior File. It sounds like a terrific picture book to connect to both math and science in an elementary classroom.
Susan T. has the Poetry Friday Roundup for July 13th at Chicken Spaghetti.
Tricia of The Miss Rumphius Effect is collecting entries for the 5th Edition of Learning in the Great Outdoors.

Elaine--thanks so much for mentioning my robin page. It has been incredible to watch these little guys progress from their worm-like hatching to big orange beaks and pin feathers. And only few more days until they fledge! It'll be like sending kids off the college.
Joyce,
How nice of you to stop by. I included a link to your journal two weeks ago, too. It's fascinationg to see your photographs of the nest and to be able to follow the development of the baby robins. I wonder...maybe these robins will be an inspiration for another fine book of poetry???
Elaine, thanks for the plug for the Sydney Taylor Book Award! Esme's post is a terrific description of the award event itself, and is really fun to read. Although we did not record the award acceptance speeches, you can find audio interviews with the various award winners on The Book of Life podcast at www.jewishbooks.blogspot.com. The January 2007 episode guides you to the relevant interviews.

Thanks, Heidi, for the information and link.
