National Education Week also was scheduled for the same month. Teachers were usually busy with report cards and classroom art activities and other projects for Thanksgiving. I hope May will be a better month.Elaine Magliarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09829330276633865868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373615867496327293.post-16637862547342519842008-05-11T11:25:00.000-04:002008-05-11T11:25:00.000-04:00I'm glad to know about the change in month for Chi...I'm glad to know about the change in month for Children's Book Week. November is a bit rainy and dismal around here (Seattle), and it's harder to get enthusiastic about anything.

I remember hearing about the "Year of the Child" when I was a little girl (1979), and for a brief time was excited. I thoguht, "Finally, children will be respected and grownups will listen to what we have to say." I was 7, and it did not happen! I didn't know that it was supposed to draw attention to the bigger, basic survival problems in the world that children faced.Saints and Spinnershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733517166056974501noreply@blogger.com
