A poem in memory of my beautiful mother Mary Koziski
Drabik (February 24, 1918-January 5, 2017)
MOTHER'S
DAY
by
David Young
I
see her doing something simple, paying bills,
or
leafing through a magazine or book,
and
wish that I could say, and she could hear,
that now I start to understand her love
for
all of us, the fullness of it.

Poignant poem -- missing my mother too. Hugs to you.
"It burns there in the past", lovely. And I love the pictures, too, Elaine. I miss my mother every day, would love to have a chat with her. Happy Mother's Day to you and your family!
I'm missing my mother these days also. I've discovered that there is so much I should have asked her now that she is gone.
Mother's Day can be so hard for so many reasons. The poem you shared is poignant. My hugs to you. Hold on and take comfort in the memories.
"A modest lamp" says so much. I've been thinking of Louise Bourgeois' spider sculptures and asking myself what metaphor I would use for my own mother. Happy Mother's Day to you and yours.
Such a poignant poem -- mother's day can be so hard for so many. Wishing you peace today.
